The Operations Buyer will be responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and/or services to determine most desirable suppliers The job level is able to be adjusted at time of hire, if the candidate meets the qualifications for jobs of a more experienced level in the career path. Qualifications: Four-Year Bachelor degree (Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management degree preferred) and two years applicable experience required. --- Or ------- Five years minimum purchasing experience with APICS or NAPM certification required High School Degree or equivalent required. Microsoft Office suite experience preferred. Excel & Word required. Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures Microsoft Office suite and Oracle experience preferred. Excel & Word required. Responsibilities:    Authorize payment of invoices or return of merchandise. May compare transportation options. Examine, select, order, and purchase at the most favorable price merchandise consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements and other factors. Interview and work closely with vendors to obtain desired products. Monitor and analyze sales records, trends, or economic conditions to anticipate buying patterns and determine what the company will need and how much inventory is needed. Negotiate prices, discount terms and transportation arrangements for merchandise. Use computers to organize and locate inventory, and operate spreadsheet and word processing software. Expedites components for faster delivery dates to meet production requirements. Performs purchasing and other recordkeeping duties. Purchases all components and services related to the manufacture of finished product, maintenance, repair and operations.
