What you’ll do: (may not include all duties, skills, or abilities associated with this classification)

Plans, develops, administers, and evaluates educational, licensing, practice, and enforcement programs in professional nursing.
Develops, implements, and evaluates standards of care for the nursing department; evaluates existing policies, procedures, and practices, and directs changes in nursing practices to meet acceptable standards of nursing care as defined by accreditation and certification agencies.
Participates as a member of the facility policy and decision-making committee; confers with other facility department directors to resolve facility administration problems.
Supervises the preparation and maintenance of nursing reports and records.
Provides specialized and highly complex clinical nursing services including assessments, treatment planning, and nursing interventions; provides consultation to other nursing staff.
Exercises considerable initiative and judgement in planning and carrying out assignments under general administrative direction; work is reviewed through conferences, reports, and evaluation of operational results.
Performs other related work as assigned.

All you will need for success:

Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university; and three or more years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse. OR
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university; and four or more years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse. OR
An Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma in nursing; and five or more years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse.
