Controls Enginer

Job Description The Controls Engineer will work closely with Senior Engineers, operations managers, and project managers regarding project development, including discovery, scope development, materials planning and procurement, design, and programming of control systems. Interaction with customers and identifying solutions to automation and integration needs will be the Controls Engineer's priority. Disciplines in PLC. programming, HMI programming, SCADA and Historian, PLC. and plant control networks, and demonstrated experience in multiple applications of instrumentation are crucial to the success of the Controls Engineer. Applications in food and beverage, textile, refrigeration, and process control. The Controls Engineer will also support customers with their automation control systems. The Controls Engineer may be responsible for electrical panel design, layout, and creation of an electrical system, including parts lists for custom and standard products. Lead all aspects of electrical design, wiring, sizing, routing, marking, and inspection of equipment. Assist in preparation of technical machinery information including operator's manuals, electrical specification, and field service reports, etc. Analyze and resolve technical electrical problems. Must possess a demonstrated understanding of process controls, instruments, and instrumentation. Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems. Minimum Requirements (experience in lieu of requirements will be considered) • 5+ years – control systems troubleshooting / PLC programming • Technical degree in related field preferred (AAS, BS) • Computer experience o Microsoft Office o 2+ years AutoCAD Electrical – or other CAD software experience o 2+ Rockwell Software  StudioLogix 5000 and RSLogix 500  FTView Studio ME and SE. • Allen Bradley hardware product knowledge • Experience in an industrial setting (i.e., Food and Beverage, Automotive, Refrigeration) • Excellent written and oral skills • Project Management • Time Management Preferred Experience (additional consideration will be given to candidates showing capabilities in any of the below fields) • Ability to prove/show work of past Allen Bradley P.L.C. projects • HMI / SCADA development • Network / IT experience – notably Ethernet IP. • Other PLC platforms – proven experience • Refrigeration experience – Ammonia Systems About SMIC Show-Me Industrial Controls, Inc is an industrial services company specializing in automation and integration.
