Altec Industries in St. Joseph, Missouri, is looking for their next Human Resources Representative. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert in multiple areas of HR and will act as a primary point of escalation for HR issues that may arise. The HR Rep provides HR assistance and support to managers and associates on a variety of functions, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training and associate relations, addressing the issues independently or partnering with appropriate HR contact to resolve HR issues. •Customer first • Enjoyment of work • Family • Financial stability • Integrity • People are our greatest strength • Quality • Spiritual development • Teamwork • The job level is able to be adjusted at time of hire, if the candidate meets the qualifications for jobs of a more experienced level in the career path. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree required • 5 years of applicable HR generalist experience required • PHR preferred • PC skills using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and personnel information systems required • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision Responsibilities • Supports Managers and Associates with a broad range of HR matters via phone, email and in person • Meets with managers and assists with recruitment function for new positions/backfills if necessary • Assists with benefit administration/payroll inquiries • Provides support with associate issues and, questions • Facilitates associates’ involvement with various corporate initiatives including training and development, wellness, etc. • Communicates with managers regarding policies and procedures • Analyzes trends and root causes and looks for opportunities to improve work environment and client group satisfaction • Actively serves as a member of each department’s team; attends department meetings and is visible to internal customers • Conducts or coordinates meetings with departments and appropriate HR Representative or Manager to address issues; partners with managers to identify and facilitate training as needed for associates/managers • Advises managers of risks based on observations, findings and investigations and develops solutions to mitigate risks • Collaborates with Operations and Corporate HR associates regarding recruiting/on boarding, talent management, compensation/payroll, benefits, operations and systems to deliver high quality services to the organization • All other duties as assigned Altec offers a competitive salary that rewards performance and dedication, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes: • Medical, Dental and Prescription Drug Program • Retirement 401(k) Program • Vacation and Holidays • Flexible Spending Accounts • Tuition Assistance Program • Employee Assistance and Mental Health/Substance Abuse Program • Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Altec Industries, Inc. and its affiliates are equal opportunity employers and maintain affirmative action plans to recruit, retain, develop, and promote qualified individuals without unlawful consideration of race, gender, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, citizenship status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
