Weekend Visitor Services and Educational Programming Manager

Description:
The Weekend Visitor Services and Educational Programming Manager is responsible for creating and implementing relevant educational programming for visitors (Pre-K, Elementary, Secondary, and Adults). On Saturdays and Sundays, they open the Museum and prepare it for guests, manage the gift shop and admission registers, orientate guests, coordinate projects, and maintain cleanliness of the facilities. Candidate must be able to take reservations for tours, rentals, and events, as well as provide educational programming, interpret exhibits, and give tours. Regular hours will be Saturday 9-5:30, Sunday 12-5:30, and one day during the week. Hours may vary dependent on programming events. This position is part-time with a total of 18 hours per week. This position will remain part-time but additional hours may become available in the future. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in education preferred, related disciplines and experience considered. • Ability and desire to work weekends. • Must be customer service oriented. • Experience developing and managing children’s and adult programming. • Experience managing volunteer groups, program and budget development, and an ability to meet deadlines. • Research, writing, and editing skills. • Self-directed and able to work independently as well as effectively in a team setting. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and online reservation systems. • Proficiency using various social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. • Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail. • Knowledge of graphic design and large format printing is a plus.
