Vertical Receives Approval to Operate

Vertical has announced receipt of its approval to operate under its licenses for cultivation and manufacturing at its 64,000-square foot facility in St Joseph. The medical marijuana production facility will house 30,000 square feet of flowering canopy when buildout is complete, but is prepared to move in and begin to cultivate in the first two bloom rooms, a total of 10,000 square feet of flowering canopy.

While the pandemic and delays in the supply chain have resulted in a later than anticipated opening, no details have been spared in the construction of the facility. All systems from fertigation to humidity have been purpose-built to ensure this brand new construction will result in bringing the highest quality, top-shelf cannabis to the Missouri market. The manufacturing side of the facility will specialize in concentrates and cartridges and equipment for extraction and quality control are best in class.

CEO and co-founder Chris McHugh expresses his relief at finally receiving approval after more than three weeks post-inspection.

“It’s so great to finally be able to do what we’ve been planning to do for such a long time. We have the chance to prove to Missouri that we’re going to deliver the highest quality products for this market. It took a long time, but we’re ready to go and can’t wait to get our products into the market.”

Vertical’s flagship dispensary in St Joseph is slated to open in early summer and will carry its own premium brands, as well as other product lines including marijuana-infused products from around Missouri. The dispensary will not open until Vertical flower, meeting the highest quality standards, is available for purchase.

“We believe that our diligence in not rushing to market and ensuring our products fulfill our brand promise is the best course of action for Missouri patients. We realize that means a longer wait to open the dispensary, but we refuse to bring less than the best top-shelf cannabis available in Missouri to patients,” said Tammy Puyear, Chief Marketing Officer.
