Sen. Roy Blunt was in St. Joseph on Friday, March 29, for several local meetings. He was at Triumph Foods to discuss the impact of budget cuts on business and to review agricultural-related issues of importance to area companies and producers. Later in the day he stopped by the Chamber for a meeting related to the Air Guard. This meeting was a bit of a follow-up to the recent Chamber-led Washington, D.C. Fly-In, where business and community leaders spoke to federal legislators on behalf of maintaining and strengthening the 139th Airlift Wing of the Missouri Air National Guard in St. Joseph.
