SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician II performs minor and major repairs to rotating equipment, commissions/de-commissions rotating and fixed equipment, performs moderate troubleshooting, and performs preventative and predictive maintenance on all equipment with direction from the Director of Maintenance Development & Systems. This position is responsible for contributing to the overall execution of the Seaboard Energy Maintenance and Reliability Programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned at management’s discretion.
Performs intermediate maintenance on rotating equipment as assigned, including but not limited to pumps, motors, centrifuges, valves, and cylinders.
Conducts routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
Assists in training Level 1 Technicians.
Demonstrates proficient knowledge of all applicable types and applications of pumps including, but not limited to, chugger, vacuum, vane, pneumatic, positive displacement, and centrifugal.
Demonstrates a basic knowledge of plant systems, including but not limited to, de-aerator system, nitrogen system, chiller system, air dryer system, and wastewater system.
Demonstrates proficient knowledge to contribute to applicable PSM and safety elements, including Job Safety Analysis, Safe Work Permit, Process Hazard Analysis, and Pre-Startup Safety Analysis.
Uses intermediate mathematical calculations for the purpose of accurate and efficient task planning and execution.
Participates in planning work projects.
Completes work orders in a timely manner.

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
2-4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a processing or manufacturing environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to read and write clear, accurate and concise reports and correspondence using standard Microsoft Office programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is primarily operational and requires significant physical activity. The role involves frequent walking, standing, and stair climbing, along with lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs. Employees will regularly perform pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing. Work is often conducted in outdoor environments and variable weather conditions, with exposure to elements such as heat, cold, and moisture. Adequate visual acuity for reading and monitoring equipment, as well as effective communication skills for verbal and written interactions, are essential. Employees must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) for their work areas.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment is based on assigned units of a manufacturing plant, with frequent mobility through all areas of production. This position will be exposed to all outside climate conditions. The noise level varies widely within different areas of production.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: 10-hour shifts, working schedule to be determined. Occasionally extended hours or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.
