Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Purpose:
– The Drying and Bagging Utility Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining all drying equipment as well as all bagging and packaging equipment and processes.
Job Accountabilities:
– Work with department team to ensure the production plan, schedule, and activities are coordinated and executed to meet company requirements
– Balance quality, productivity, and safety to achieve results in all areas
Work to continuously improve in all areas of the manufacturing of dry products
– Safely operate a forklift as well as pass a certification test for its operation
– Work as a team member to meet departmental key performance indicators
– Control drying systems (temperature, airflow), load raw materials, monitor process parameters, and log all needed/required data
– Load packaging materials, move finished bags/totes, and keep raw material bins full
– Operate bagging machines, fill bags/totes to correct weight, seal, and apply labels accurately
– Submit supply chain logs for safety, mechanical, or production issues
– Perform routine cleaning, basic troubleshooting, minor repairs, and assist maintenance staff in any way requested
– Assist in checklist updates as required
– Follow and perform daily checklists and inspections
– Perform checks on product weight, seal integrity, and overall quality; inspect materials going in the tote or bag
– Maintain a clean and orderly work area by keeping tools and equipment in proper places and all materials off the floor of the area
– Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
– Required Education- HS diploma
– Required Work Experience- Preferred 5 years of experience in manufacturing in an industrial/manufacturing environment
– Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)
– Willing and able to work off hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed
– Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs)
– Ability to pass a written and driving exam to prove capability of safely operating a forklift
– Physically able to lift and move 50lb. on a regular reoccurring basis
– Experience in equipment maintenance and operability
– Experience in scheduling, operations procedures development, training, and personnel development
