Description:
  This position will require an individual who is well-spoken, highly organized, responsive, and able to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously. The individual must have strong customer service experience and the ability to work as part of a team. This person will primarily support the managing attorney in this firm, and also cross-train to support the other attorneys and staff.

Legal Assistant Job Duties:
• Establishes and organizes client files.
• Conducts regular reviews of client files to ensure client matters are handled in a timely manner, meeting deadlines, and billed at appropriate times.
• Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact, communicating status updates as directed by the attorney.
• Prepares accounting spreadsheets for Probate Court and trust administrations.
• Communicates regularly with attorney to prioritize tasks, ensure progress, and meet deadlines.
• Communicates well with established and new clients, attorneys, staff members, city/county/state office administrators, governmental institutions, insurance companies, and financial institutions.
• Researches government and other databases for legal research and reporting.
• Assists staff as necessary to prepare materials for mediation conferences; organizes and assembles materials for team case review; prepares exhibits.

Attorney Support:
• Manages attorney’s personal and professional calendar; schedules appointments, in-person and telephone conferences.
• Schedules and reports continuing legal education (CLE) hours.
• Provides the main point of contact with clients on behalf of the attorney.
• Assists with conference room set-up for electronic and tele-conferencing.
• Documents case progression; enters documents and information into Missouri CaseNet system and in-house matter management software; confirms case status with attorney.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Microsoft Office Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook, Research Skills, Organization Skills, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Responsiveness, Client Confidentiality, Project Management Knowledge, Willingness to Learn, Professional, Courteous, Multi-Tasking Ability, Legal Administration experience a plus but not required.

Education:
High School degree and 1-3 years post-HS education or related experience

Summary:
This Legal Assistant position will provide essential support to attorneys and staff by managing legal documentation and ensuring efficient case management. With an emphasis on organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, you will assist in maintaining an orderly law office environment. Your knowledge and experience in administrative-type support will enhance our legal team's effectiveness and client satisfaction.

Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 per week
