Being a hub of the Animal Health Corridor has its perks. In late 2010, agricultural dignitaries from Missouri, Nebraska, Louisiana and federal agencies visited St. Joseph to make a major announcement. Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon announced a cooperative agreement between the Missouri Department of Agriculture and USDA Rural Development to create a business plan and pilot program for training animal health professionals.
